Do I need a MIDI keyboard to play?

A MIDI keyboard gives you the best experience, but it's not required. On phones and tablets, you can use the on-screen touch piano. On desktop, you can use your computer's QWERTY keyboard as a fallback. That said, we highly recommend a MIDI keyboard for the most realistic piano practice.

Which MIDI keyboards work with Piano Surge?

Any USB MIDI keyboard should work. We've tested with keyboards ranging from 25-key minis (like the Akai MPK Mini) up to full 88-key digital pianos. Connect via USB — on iPhone/iPad, you'll need a Lightning or USB-C camera adapter.

My MIDI keyboard isn't being detected. What should I do?

What does Premium include?

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription — $4.99/month or $29.99/year — that unlocks 20 additional songs (40+ total), daily challenges, and algorithmically generated songs that adapt to your skill level. You can manage or cancel auto-renewal at any time in your App Store account settings.

Can I restore my Premium purchase on a new device?

Yes. Open Piano Surge on your new device and go to Settings. Tap "Restore Purchases" and your Premium access will be restored automatically using your Apple ID.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not directly by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase, find Piano Surge in your purchase history, and submit a refund request.

Is Piano Surge family-friendly?

Yes. Piano Surge contains no ads, no chat or messaging features, and no way for users to communicate with each other directly. We don't collect personal information to play. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Does my progress sync across devices?

Yes. Piano Surge automatically syncs your progress using anonymous cloud save. Your scores, stars, and achievements will be available on any device where you're signed in.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app removes all local data immediately. To delete cloud-stored data, email support@pianosurge.com and we'll process your request within 30 days.

The app feels laggy or my phone gets warm. What can I do?

Piano Surge uses real-time graphics for the note highway. If you notice lag or warmth, try closing other apps running in the background. On older devices, performance may vary — we're continuously optimizing.
